Lumacron today announces immediate availability of its KAIROS dual 200Gbps coherent intercept transponder, supporting two channels of CFP2-DCO coherent demodulation with two QSFP28 direct-detect interfaces on the client side. Kairos is built around module technology from Acacia Communications Inc., and is available now as a connectivity option on Lumacron’s ZEUS terabit intercept platform.
“Networks are evolving rapidly” said Alan McDade, CEO Lumacron Technology. “10G connectivity is migrating apace to 100G links, and webco’s are disrupting legacy telco operating models by enabling disaggregated, SDN-capable platforms”
“The intelligence community needs to keep pace with this change, and Lumacron Technology is well placed to help our customers navigate what is becoming a complex network ecosystem, especially with respect to coherent carriers over DWDM.”
“Building a system round Acacia modules makes perfect sense for us – they are market leaders both in terms of module rollout and silicon photonics capabilities. We believe Kairos will be a key enabler in providing monitoring access for 100G/200G coherent links – and critically, the approach is scalable to 400G, 600G and beyond”.
